U14 Spring Game 7

The Scotch Plains Blue Sharks U12 Girls intercounty team’s offense heated up with the weather as they shut out Springfield 3-0 on Saturday June 11 at Jonathan Dayton High School in Springfield.

Annie Rubin’s goal midway through the first half was all the Blue Sharks would need in a game played in mid summer sweltering conditions but they poured it on with another goal in each half for their highest goal total this season.

Desli DeMarsico scored in the first half and Jessica DiGiacomo completed the scoring in the second half. Goalies, Melissa McKenna and Amanda Rodriguez combined for the shutout.
Lauren Buckley, Alyssa Young, Erin Brown, Kara Gaynor, Rebecca DiGiacomo, Jessica Feeley, Emily Cohen, Lauren Berk, Sarah Lazarus, Toni Ann Capece, Sarah Weber also contributed as the Sharks improved their record to 4-3-1, with one game remaining, hopefully in cooler conditions.
